Keith i've also caught Barbel when Chub fishing on the maggot feeder tactics when the water temp was rising from as low as 40 F. Seem when you get a long cold period Barbel still feed occasionally.

When the river temp falls below 43 f and water is clear I switch over to the float or feeder fishing. During periods of high pressure and low water I would continue fishing this method any increases in temp even was as low as 40f and rising you still have a channce of Barbel on the feeder...

Bill as Jon has mentioned Funtley lake is controled by Portsmouth angling club only one tackle shop now in Fareham you can purchase day tickets from Rovers Tackle in the high street parking right opersite the shop. You only need to fish the margin along the reeds. Pub Miners...
Bob that's a fine specimen Barbel from the Rother used to fish up at Coltishall on the old Portsmouth club book some good fish up there like the Arun. Darrel.

You are right we need to support the tackle shops lost three down in my area recently rods and reels, pages. Hansfords I was in the Avon angling today when the chap bright all the stock it would appear he's opening a new tackle shop in winbourne.

I got one of the Tfgear pins the one with the two gold handles with a broken U shaped ratchet held on with two small screws and wondering if anyone can advise if Tfgear hold any spare parts.
