Not having that Howard, you said "highly malicious campaign", now its just a "campaign" is it? Either way you're getting exited over very little. You will have to be a bit steadier if you get to sit in't big chair.
Well Howard, what a strange view of the world you have. I have just had a look back thought this thread, something I rarely do, and all I see is a little Criticism on the way Pope has run the BS..... I see no "highly malicious campaign" or an army of instigators. I see no personal attack on...
I agree Mark.
Howard seems very fond of accusing folks of being "cowardly". I don't know why, its just opinions on the BS and the way its run being expressed........ everyone can have an opinion.
You are right though, such threads all go down hill, best stop trying to promote the BS on here...
Damian,
well not going fishing seems to have done you no good at all!
I am really not interested in anything you have to say Dimian, so lets not bother eh!
Stick to fell running with your "friend".
The really big barbel out there are to be found in the large dams, they are not the norm and although they certainly do go well over 30lb such fish are very rare indeed.
I'm saying, don't get your hopes up. Good fishing to be had for sure though.
The river they fish is the same one I fish...
Sewage works 10 years behind UK graham, but industrial discharges lower in the main.
Plus,... Spain is 5 times bigger with a lower population than UK so not quite so much pressure I guess.
Would be a fair point Craig if the rivers were not cleaner now than they were under the state, but they are, so its not.
Things could always be better of course.
John,
A recent EA study showed that on some rivers pellets make up 70% of a barbels diet. They have ways of telling from a single scale apparently.
That was the highest figure reported, most rivers were lower. Cant for the life of me remember which river it was that was highest now. :(
I don't know the answer but shouldn't someone first establish how often barbel need to spawn successfully to maintain a sustainable population. I see talk of missing year classes, but if a fish that lays that many eggs, and lives past 25, was successful every year there would be no water in the...
Howard,
The fishing up that way was good, they all closed down when Fred Boney moved up there.
I have a feeling I may know where Keith will take you on t'trent...... you will be welcome.
.
Lee, For sure the fisheries don't stand on their own two feet as they once did.
Howard, I wish the BS all the luck in the world, but would bet my house that your prediction will not come true whilst the current occupants sit at the big table. I have the benefit of years as a member over you...
