Yep, all my local rivers. All my DL builds are also standard and the only thing I'd change on all of them is the butt caps, I'd have liked stainless buttons with a DLST logo, which I believe he is considering after a bit of pressure from customers.

I've followed the recent threads about the C3 and floodwaters etc but has anyone got first hand experience of the chimera 3' against the daiwa basias? Quite possibly the last pair of rods I'll ever buy!

Another consideration could be Daiwa theory's in 2.25lb. I have the older versions which bought second hand on here and they've retired my fox 1.75 and 2.25 royale's. I use them for all my barbel fishing no matter the venue now, a great blank that you can really apply the pressure on with.

Aviators have been around in "carp" TC's for years, not sure about the TC's above??

Similar scenario, sat on the "point" of my syndicate lake with a mate. We both saw a deer walk down the hall bank, (it's an estate) walk into the lake and swim to the central island. Might sound a bit mundane but in the setting sun an a late summer evening, it was quite spectacular.

Check out the GS4000. I have one with the QD conversion. Same size(ish) as the 2600 but supposedly better drag and inners, also available but harder to find in 3000 which I suspect would be a similar size to the 1600??
