Wouldn't surprise me if they are just bullshine.
Regarding the reliability/quality of the line, which I've had, I haven't noticed anything wrong with it.
I'll ask my local tackle shop and see if he has any thoughts on the rumours lol.
Thanks, Derek.
I found it a little odd that the 6lb Hyper is about the same diameter as the original 4lb sensor.
The reason I found it odd was that the 4lb original sensor breaks at about 6lb... if you get my drift on that?
Obviously, it may be a totally different line, but I'm suspicious LOL...
I use it all the time, it's my go-to mono. I've tried loads of different lines for trotting, and the original sensor has proved to be unrivalled for my style of fishing.
I can't remember where it was, but ive heard the same story.
How would the tightening of Japanese regulations come into...
I doubt it will have anything to do with the plastic spools. I got two bulk spools of 6lb sensor recently from a local tackle shop.
They didn't mention any issues getting hold of it.
If I couldn't get hold of the normal sensor, I would try the hyper sensor. Failing that, I would go for Bayer...
For what it's worth, Bob, I would recommend you take a look at the Okuma Sheffield or the Okuma Aventa reels; they are excellent reels.
You can pick up second-hand ones in used or even unused condition for not too much money.
If you look after them, then you'll most likely get the majority...
Hahaha, to be honest, Chris, they are fine to drive in. They have separate felt-soled boots, which are easier to drive in than my ordinary ones.
The uppers dry out nicely with the car heater blowing, but the neoprene socks and boots are still soaked, so they need hanging up to dry off.
Thanks, John, the rivers I fish are spate, so they're up and down like a Kangaroo!
I have to keep my eye on the weather conditions and the river levels in advance to spot a day suitable to fish.
You have a 15ft speci, lucky you, I will get one 😉. Only reason I haven't got one yet is because I rarely use a rod over 14ft.
I found the accy plus to be a good choice to use for grayling, amongst numerouse others.
I actually enjoy using a 14ft Browning sphere waggler rod when chasing the...
Yea, the alconites are good, but if I had the choice i'd prefer to pay a little more for a rod kitted out with the SICs.
The price daiwa charge for their higher end rods they should be kitted out with pure gold framed SICs !
Hi Dominic,
I had a few goes with friends 15ft rods on several occassions but I didn't like the feel of them preferring a float rod up to 14ft. I even got a Browning 15ft 6inch spliced tipped sphere, but after only one outing I decided to sell it as I really didn't like it. So about 9 months...
To be honest i've had no issues with the metal end cap, but i'm very carful what I rest it on and usually lay the rod down on grass if possible.
For quite some time now, I put a old but slim Wychwood butt protection sock on most of my rods to prevent scratches etc.
When the acolytes were first...
Yea, I imagine it would coat the line going out and then coming back.
I just can't be faffed messing with the stuff.
I'm sure I remember someone telling me they had a small sponge or similar soaked with glycerine set up so the line ran over it constantly renewing a film of glycerine onto the...
