Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Steve No reason in writing yet, all sorts of nonsense and as for stocking barbel into the Hampshire Avon it is a DEFINITE NO, we have tried.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Concerning, all this talk of rivers being stocked that barbel haven't been in before, I have been refused permission by the EA to stock them into Throop on the Dorset Stour, even though we stocked them into there in 2014 with EA permission. Needless to say I am fighting this but at the moment...

    Angling Trust

The trouble is that if night fishing was banned there would be a lot more travelling back and forwards. Neil, as long as anglers are obeying the rules I am happy for them, doesn't affect me as I don't night fish or fish lakes but happy for the ones that do.

    Angling Trust

The doom merchants who thought there was no night fishing were wrong, I have spoken to the Angling trust and angling is classed as a exercise and you can take unlimited exercise, camping isn't and that's why you cannot do that.

Sad times just makes us think

My wife normally goes to work in her uniform to a dementia home, she now has to leave her uniform at work to be washed so she isn't bringing any infection out or taking any in. Commonsense if you think about it, not bureaucratic rules Derek.

Sad times just makes us think

Surely this shouldn't be made into a political post, we should all be working together not arguing, that's the only way we will get through this.

    River temperature taking

I bought 2 new reuben heaton digitals a few years back, there was 4 degrees fahrenheit difference in the readings on them, hence why I use the mercury thermometer. Temperature trend is important but it is nice to know what the actual temperature is.

    So what has changed?

The way I look at is we have what we have, difficult yes but I still enjoy it. I have a few trips to the Wye each year to build my confidence for fishing the Hampshire Avon and Dorset Stour, I enjoy my trips to the Wye but wouldn't want to fish it all the time. If I catch a barbel on the Avon or...

    Close Season Retained

Shame they don't employ mathematicians at the EA, less than 40% were in favour of retaining the close season as it is: "Support among anglers for retaining a close season and removing it is finely balanced. The 8 week public consultation received 13,680 responses with 38.8% of anglers...
