Hi John, I no longer fish the lower Severn regularly and was wondering if the size of the barbel were decreasing. Back ‘in the day’ doubles were not uncommon once ‘hot’ swims were located. This is bearing in mind that large areas were almost devoid of barbel. G.T.

I was asking about the advantages of nationalisation actually when Scottish Water is nationalised and crap ( apparently ) and the European countries Water Resources are similarly nationalised and crap ( apparently). G.T.

To resolve all the issues will take BILLIONS and a considerable amount of time. Only by taxation will this amount of money be raised. Will the ‘ general public ‘ sanction this. I very much doubt it. They will support it ‘in theory’ but no further I’m afraid. G.T.

And here’s the thing……Scottish Water is a nationalised industry and it’s water quality is hardly monitored which is apparently the same in France and Spain ( who are Nationalised industries also ). Labour have apparently said that they have no plans to nationalise water or energy companies...

It is time taxpayers were given the opportunity to fund our water companies properly. They need to pay the hundreds ( or thousands ) more a year to bring the Sewerage system out of the Victorian age. If this sector is nationalised ( and I’m not against this ) it will require the same massive...
