None of this comes as a surprise, .. the boaters/ canoeists have been consistently more proactive than both riparian owners and angling,..... you could probably add wildlife trusts to that as well.

You could introduce a work party levy Mark which could be ring fenced for fishery management. Problem with that is it may cause resentment from some and would also lead to members turning up when they’d rather be elsewhere which is just a waste of time.

I would have thought that when a rod is bent round at full t.c. one or two of the eyes would be almost redundant towards the tip end as they would be pointing towards the fish?
