Totally agree, if I can get away with it (and I usually do) I use my Harrison 1.5lb but I also love my original Greys Prodigy Barbel 1.75lb and have never used anything heavier for Barbel. I fish the Hants Avon, Dorset Stour and the Wye but have never fished the Trent or Severn but hope to do so...
I know it isn't meat but I use Garlic Klips Pellets, Dumbells and Paste from Kent Particles River Baits and they are superb, getting me a Throop Fishery record last season ;)
My thoughts exactly 🧐 I twist the bag until it is drum tight so it "explodes" on melting and am able to cut off the tag end very close to the knot which is also pulled very tight as well.
The knot slips easily and firmly into the Ronnie Swivel (as shown in my first post).
No waste at all;)
I use a Ronnie rig swivel on my lead clip or on the line above the lead when fishing inline leads. The knot of your PVA bag fits perfectly in the slot, "Simples" ;)

I switched to ESP Syncro XT Loaded at the start of this season and have been so impressed with it I just purchased another bulk spool to load on my carp reels for the summer ;) 👍

Thanks fellers
Stephen, I'm not looking for any new rods for myself at the moment (love my Harrisons and original Greys Prodigy too much ;)) but was just interested as there are a pair for sale locally and hadn't heard of them before, thanks anyway👍
Hi fellers
Anyone got any experience of this rod good or bad?

Drennan have also provided most stockists with replacement locking collets which they give out for free (always worth having a spare in your bag) ;)but to reiterate:
when you set the length of your Drennan handle it only requires the slightest pressure to set the length THERE IS NO NEED to...
