    Rod grip

Me too John, SMG, can I assume you were tank crew, as I? By the way that is a very pristine example ;)

Front Drag reels for barbel fishing with no baitrunner......

Although I normally use X Aero baitrunner reels they were both "Locked Up" in yesterdays swim as I had a fallen tree less than 15 mtr downstream 😬 I have no problem with using front drag reels though and have Diawa Emcast Evo reels on my Carp rods but obviously leave them loose and then tweek...

what size pellets do you use on hair rig

I only use pellets as feed but use boilies made from the same ingredients as hookbait, Klips Sardine and Garlic ;)

"Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" New Series

Am I missing something here! WTF has this got to do with this thread?

    River Brolly Stress

Personally I wouldn't buy a brolly if I couldn't remove the centre pole ;) I currently use the Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter which is excellent.

"Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" New Series

As usual, the fishing is a backdrop against the obvious friendship and camaraderie between Bob and Paul, most enjoyable watch 😁

    What's the forecast.

Hi Mike Most, if not all weather apps use the Met Office for their forecasts but in my experience (and my job depends on it) XCWeather is by far the best and most comprehensive available.

    New footwear for winter recommendations

I still wear the first pair of Muckboots that I purchased at least 10 years ago, they are my go to winter footwear ;)

    New footwear for winter recommendations

I purchased some Grubbs after years of using Muckboots. Wrong decision. Muckboots are by far a better product. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for"

Finally….., what looks like a great river chair

JRC Stealth X lite for me, no better chair for roving on the market ;) Accessory chairs are by their nature HEAVY;) Just my opinion of course but based on many years of experience:rolleyes:

Thoughts on Barbel wising up to rigs

Because, as you know Terry, it's not rocket science mate, although you could be forgiven for thinking it is. Location and feed are the key elements, after that if you have a decent bait on a decent rig, in the right place , it will catch ;)

    Harrison blank identification help please…

Just checked, has a very well fitted piece of cork in the male joint. Maybe the decals are just not as nice as the older ones on my 'Avon Angling' 1.5 TC pair which I bought several years ago? Top sections on those are shorter than butt sections as described in my earlier post.

    Harrison blank identification help please…

Have Harrison rods ever been faked? The reason I ask is that I have a 11' 'Avon' 1lb 6oz which I'm not entirely convinced is right? The decals look cheap and I was also told that a feature of Harrison two piece blanks is that the tip section is always a little shorter when packed away to...

    Drennan Twistlock

Hi Richard, I agree on most counts, however, this is a product that is produced in large numbers with in my experience no instructions on "Best Practice" and as such should be more durable. We are not all budding engineers and although I , like you have nursed my original handle and a second...

    Drennan Twistlock

I have two twist locks which I have 'nursed through' over the last few years but still can't understand how a company as big as Drennan hasn't sorted this design fault out yet???

    Castaway PVA Discount Code

I also usually use Carp King but Paul Potter now has his own bait brand (KLIPS which is awesome) and also does a great deal on PVA (£32 for 100m I believe.
