    Just had a look at the new 1.5lb & 2lb barbel rods. The 1.5lb barbel rod is alot more powerful and heavier than the 1.5lb specimen rod. The 1.5lb & 1.75lb version has single legged guides on the tip section where the 2lb & 2.25lb have double legged guides. No hook keepers on the all the barbel...

    I agree, tried the 13ft acoltye specimen and the 13ft Avenger side by side and the Acolytye was so much more balanced in the hand. Can not see what all the hype is over the Normarks.

    Completely different carbon used in the blanks you can see the difference and the tench and bream rods have a faster action to aid casting.

    I agree about the new range of Drennan specialist rods, they are really poorly made. Had to return them as the eyes weren't whipped on straight and what ever they are using to paint the blanks with isn't very robust. Shame as l really like there stuff.

    This is what i have read as well. I believe that the 1.25 t.c butt section is on par with the 1.75 t.c and the 1.5 t.c is more of a softer through action rod.

    I layer up with my outer shell being Halkon hunt bib and brace and Jacket. 3 layer Gortex . Best bit of fishing clothing i have brought.
