30Plus Rock 'ard handle - if I can't break one, nobody can! :) 30Plus Camo Rock 'Ard Handle 2.7m | Landing Net Handles | 30plus Fishing Tackle | Nets and Handles
And it's camo! :p
Lucky you! :) Not needed to look for mine all season! :o
Could you ask him to make luggage in a nice olive green colour instead of that awful khaki that stands out like a sore thumb please.
There was a thread on here a few years ago about this and one poster detailed the number of river records for each month of the season - fairly even spread if I remember rightly. We all know individual specimens are likely to be at their top weight at the back end of the season but there's still...
What do you mean Nick? I've been glued to this thread for the last couple of days. The kind of information we all need to know - perhaps the mods could make it sticky? The only problem I've had with superglue is sticking things together that I didn't intend to! Use Loctite precision now - 1...
Nice to see the Penn's have gathered a following. I was cleaning my gear down after another session on the tidal Ribble a few days ago and one thing struck me - the reels are spotless! Hardly a mark on them after 3 years of solid abuse amongst rock, grit and sand. What did they coat them with...
15 years ago on the middle Trent before the pellet revolution it was maggot feeder all the way. 4 big whites on a size 10 was the hook bait of choice. I started using Drennan Double Strength, does the job, then Preston brought out Powerline and that was no.1 choice in either 0.19 or 0.21mm. In...
If you can't get hold of any Rustins I've used the Pro Gloss Rod Varnish sold by Dave Norwich to good effect in the past. Rustins is cheaper. Both can be used to coat a blank as well as the whippings if needs be. Of the modern stuff I prefer the Roddancer Threadmaster epoxy over Flex-Coat for...
Try Rustins yacht varnish for that traditional look to match the other guides, recommended to me on here a few years ago and does the job nicely. A modern epoxy wouldn't look right IMO.
Stay put. I was on a social with a mate a couple of weeks ago and at around 9pm an otter popped up in the swim, stayed a minute or two then moved upstream. Almost straight away my mates rod slammed over and a nice chub came to the net and within half an hour i'd banked 2 barbel.
Hmmmm . . . Big Game is kinda stretchy! I don't think it's the stretch that's the problem more the fact the lines you've tried didn't return to normal after stretching! Big Game certainly will and I find the stretch in it a useful shock absorber when trying to hold fish out of snags.
The unwritten rule then is to use a quality fresh/frozen bait if you intend to pile it in and a shelf life to fish a single hook bait and maybe plip plop a couple in for attraction. Let's not get too carried away with fish welfare - shelflife or frozen, preservatives or not them fishmeal boilies...
Bob has laid out the options for you there David. Would just like to add that for the amateur rod builder option 1, although sounding initially more complicated, is probably easier than option 2. When fitting a handle in reverse you have to use cork with a parallel bore that will fit over the...
