If you want to store rods horizontally then ladder racks work well that you get from hardware stores and building merchants. L - shaped and I've doctored mine by extending the arm with an old bank stick and then wrapping some of that insulation foam / pipe cladding stuff that plumbers use...
Give em the old double whammy.
'' Have you got a licence mate ?'' - the response is usually 'no' !
'' So not only have you not got a rod licence but you're also fishing out of season, the EA bailiff I've just seen round the corner is gonna love you, good luck '' :D.
This has worked for me...
Hi Hurgen,
I suspect Keith hasn't seen this so I've sent him a text so he should be in touch, that is of course if he's not in the Netherlands, predator fishing.

This stuff looks very good value ! Anybody seen it in the flesh or better still, had experience of using it ? I've been told it had some decent reviews in some carp mags.

Find yourself a tench water and when the days are longer fish some dawn starts. 90% of my barbel fishing is done the other end of the day into night so being up early during the close is a nice change. Special feeling when you're on a mist shrouded lake at first light.
Short floater...
Off tomorrow to fish a swollen middle Thames stretch, plonk some paste wrapped smelly boilies close to some snags in the hope of finding a chub, dare I say a barbel, one of those wouldn't go amiss.
First time out in weeks, looking forward to it.

Sounds like you caught it wrong Declan, unlucky. Don't be put off and do make the effort to return. 20 of us fished it in December and we all caught well with the Test carrying just a tinge of colour.
This was my third trip to the venue and I always catch on trotted flake whilst feeding...
Remember your personal safety though if anyone does decide to challenge canoeists whom you know to be in the wrong. Most of us fish alone, or in two's or three's at best, you could easily find yourself in an awkward situation if a debate got heated and you're outnumbered. Sounds daft but I...
As the demand for high adrenalin outdoor pursuits increases year on year I suspect we'll see more & more of this on our overcrowded Island. Not all, but I think a large number of canoeists see ANY water as fair game. Other than the odd landowner or disgruntled fisherman who is going to challnge...
Never under estimate, quite simply, being in the right place at the right time, especially when it comes to big rivers where you can't see the fish. That's what I tell myself on the Thames where barbel can turn up any place at any time. As many bank hours as you can throw at it with the best...
Can't have a 'Barbel in the snow' thread without those puppies from last year Keith ;). He's also been catching some nice chub but he's far to shy to mention those.
