As Richard said it’s a bit of a short session job mornings evenings……just invest in some top quality butt tests that really grip the rod just in case you do turn your back for a few seconds… I use the jag ones not cheap but with three sizes of inserts in the pack you should be covered for most...

On a political point of view in answer to your original post .. the main problem for angling is natural England they are a quango so if you need to get rid of quangos i would suggest reform….. other political party’s are available

The angling trust should be doing more taking on natural England for a start I suppose it’s up to members of AT to pressure them into doing so
