Adams mill is very narrow in places, especially the backwater….a good running jump and you’d clear it! To think it was once home to multiple giant barbel that would eclipse many of the Trent biggies is astonishing
It was that film and the Adams mill/kickles one that got me subscribing, brought back lots of fond memories whilst I can’t get out myself recovering from a hernia op ….have been impressed with the quality of the content so far, for the cost of a beer or two it’s worth it IMO
Have a search for shimano GTM 4010, they are very capable reels, they do t have the cranking power for large feeders on the Trent but smaller rivers they are perfect. I have a couple of these and the fighting drag is superb - good condition models do still come up on eBay…if it wasn’t for...
My local tackle shop said they was informed by the drennan rep that a 17ft accy specimen is in the pipeline….no idea on timescale but will be an interesting addition to the range
daiwa TDX would be my choice too Mike followed by Daiwa matchwinner or Shimano Stradic GTM (the original Japanese models are best)
If you prefer something a bit more retro have a look at a Shimano super match HS, superb trotting reels
I use the ESP stalker pouch, have also bought a Drennan EVA one for mashed bread but not used i do rate the ESP one and if it gets too grubby/mouldy it can go in the wash

Thanks, yeah the tip is a bit short…but longer than the Korum glide ones which are way too short. Shame but I’ll no doubt get a couple and try when next on the Severn
I’ll have to get my name down for some of @Richard Isaacs I think
