    Change baits !

I am probably an average angler, but, now in my mid 70's, I no longer night fish, wade or rove from swim to swim. I select one of two swims in quiet, scenic locations and fish for 4 or 5 hours in daylight. Now when choosing a swim we rarely know what has happened over the preceding days, or even...

    Shimano Baitrunner 6000: XTR-RA, XT-RA, XTEA or GTE-C?

Gavin, Ask on here if anyone has a pair of 4000 or 6000 Shimano OC's they are willing to sell. I've purchased all mine second hand from BFW members. Great reels, and spare spools are very reasonably priced.

    Ground Spike

Andrew, carry them in your bag, they weigh very little. Then slip them on your boots or wellies when you get near the area you are planning to fish. I'm in my 70's and can still pull them on my boots whilst still wearing them.

    Closed season project.

Nice one Richard, you too Lewis. To improve filtration buy a bunch of watercress from the supermarket. Take off the elastic band and push the stems into the gravel. It will root in a few days and cover all the gravel in a few weeks. Great water purifier, tastes good and when it gets too big, cut...

    Large comfy chair

Thought that might be the case ! The front tubes of the chair are much longer than the legs. So provided the tube thickness was increased, you could make much longer legs and add the mud feet. Are the legs plain tubing or is there a groove or indent ? If just plain tube the modification would be...

Neil, Can you take a picture of the front legs with them fully extended. I modified my JRC easily with some aluminium tubing.

    Why Korum, why?

Lets have some input into new Korum products for May. My suggestion is for barbel waders. They would have little wings just above the ankle to give stability in fast water. Just like a formula 1 car.

    Touch legering and rolling baits

Mark, Why not ask on here if anyone has a 1.75 Torrix they are willing to sell. All my best rods were purchased second hand from bfw members at about half the price of new.

Free spirit River Tamer 11ft 1.5

Does anyone know the difference between the f.s. River Tamer and Barbel Tamer. Or did they just change the name in the hope of selling more ? I have two 11' x 1.5tc barbel tamers which were made several years apart. The early one has a smooth Matt finish, the newer one the ridged gloss finish...
