I know people who had more barbel last year on creature and stick baits designed for perch than I did on normal Barbel baits. But saying that, I like to keep my lures for perch only.

Guru N-Gauge Barbel in 2.25 perhaps? They took a while to grow on me but I love my 1.25 and pair of 1.75's now. I think the 2.25 are priced at around £120 so come in under your budget. And I've heard there's meant to be a 2.75 coming out too.

According to Drennan the new 1.5 and 2.0 Barbel rods are faster action and more tippy over the Specimen range So different action to the current barbel rods, not sure why they would change th action? Will that put the new 2.0 barbel rod very similar to the 2.0 tench and bream?

Love my 11ft 1.5lb Specimen. Really light and well balanced for a pound and half rod. Been using it as a summer Chub and Barbel rod on the W.Avon

Just seen the short video for the 2 new rods in the Barbel line up I've already got the current 1.5lb Specimen rod so I'm wondering what difference in action we'll see in the 'Barbel' version of the same test curve?
