    Touch legering and rolling baits

I am actually rather disappointed with the drennan specimen rod and the quiver. Not the rod, they are good, but the drennan’s marketing, I somehow feel they just split the old dual tip rods into two different rod. But yeah, if you could, support the local shop is a great thing to do.

Bit of a 'back to basics' kinda question....

Thames is a hard river to fish, especially the up and middle sections. There are lots of chub and bream, but not many barbel. And a lot stretch’s are featureless, so finding the potential underwater features is crucial. I know a guy find a deep hole with the deeper and caught a 19lb barbel...

Drennan Specialist landing net handle EUREKA moment

I have drennn, Gardner and tacklebox one. Drennan no doubt is the lightest one, but you need to be careful with it. I once put a weed cutter on it and try to cut the overgrown grass on the bank, and the first section pulled out when I tried to cut a thick area. Tacklebox is heavier but decent...

Bit of a 'back to basics' kinda question....

Well, I’ve been thinking about getting a deeper for a while, but after trotting the swim a few times, I kind of know it well now. I don’t like the lead idea, especially if you want to use it to find deep holes etc.

    Touch legering and rolling baits

Not my top choice, tbh, too heavy to hold all day long.

    Touch legering and rolling baits

I use hardy marksman Avon for touch ledgering and rolling meat. I do have chimera Avon and torrix 1.75, but still prefer the action of hardy.

Yeah, had the same issue since today. I am sure it was fine yesterday

    Which Acolyte rod

I wouldn’t use any acolyte float rods for ledgering as they are too delicate for leads, even the specimen. Link ledgering is fine, but I don’t think that’s the method you want to use? I also wouldn’t use chimera no1 or MT’s float rods, way too strong imo, unless you are targeting big fish...

    New floats available

Received the float today just before I am heading to the airport, so only had a quick look of them, first impression is the quality is very good, love the long and wide tips. Will give them a go when I back

    10’6 Andy Sliwa

Yeah, 1.25 is what Andy said. But it means nothing really, remember torrix 1.25 is stronger than the 1.5?

Hopefully there will be enough interest for him to proceed

Nice rod, should come with a cork handle. And can’t believe you found a 15.6 sphere. How lucky you are!
