Weird one I know but .....
I bought 2 cans of this, used them, and was encouraged by the result. So I then bought another 3 cans. But after using another half a can I've decided it ain't gonna work on me. But that may be something to do with the fact that my Dad was bald by his 50's, and I'm...
I've had similar experiences with inexpensive braid (and once with a 'wonder' mono that actually broke at half its stated B.S.)
Whatever line I use, I check it before spooling up. I've had zero problems with PowerPro/Slick 8, or that Jig Silk (Fox IIRC) I use, plus a much cheaper Spectra...
Hi All, after just receiving some new wagglers I decided to run some line through them. Then I had a thought : Check the breaking strain of the braid (yellow 10.6lb Jig Silk) that's been used on my Severn waggler rod for ~10years (testing the last few metres of line immediately above the the...
As I said earlier Neil ... boxed and unused it'll last a lifetime. Nylon is a highly stable polymer ...but UV (well, any radiation) can chip away at the polymetric chains.
Dark/black absorbs more light ...white/silver reflects more, Rich. But then, if you'd got clear line on a spoon, any (potentially damaging) rays would penetrate deeper into the layers of wound on line. Perspex sure doesn't like UV!
Depends on how much UV exposure it receives. Boxed and unused it will last a lifetime, left in the sun it will degrade ....but very slowly (years). Dark line will degrade faster than lighter coloured line. The only true answer is : test it (and best comparing it to the strength you found it to...
Just spotted your secret ground bait ingredient in the background Gra. Hmmmm, never thought about adding Iron Sulphate ...no wonder you're catching heavy fish 🤣😂🤣
Brace of beauties mate ....ACE!

I bought a pair of Korum 2.5lb/12ft rods (Code : K0330023) in December 2024, for wanging big lumps of lead 20-25m out into 30ft of Lower Severn flood water whilst up to my calves in mud. They've not been tested by a big girl yet but they felt absolutely fine during half a dozen sessions. The...
I think one thing that fosters a belief in 'intuition' or us having a 'sixth sense' is bias confirmation, in that .... if we look at a swim and think "There, that's the spot" (and we catch), or we've been fishing for a few hours and we're thinking of packing up and then think "No, just one last...
I wouldn't use the word "intuition", but I do believe that 'watercraft' is something that may be an increasingly neglected 'art'. Those that fish streams and small river will always need it so as to be successful ...but yes, I do believe that anglers/humans are increasingly less 'in-tune' with...
