I must have missed that post/poster (unless it was something to do with lead core), and I reckon every single member (and all the lurkers ) of BFW have fished for carp at some time in their angling life. But to answer the OP ... this year I've been using Gripz (standard & wide gape) exclusively...

I've got both Torrix 11ft 1.75 and F/S Hi S Barbel 2lb... and if I had to give up one of those it would be the Torrix. If I could only have one rod it would be the F/S Barbel .... it'll do it all (IMO)

Although I see very few advantages in an 11ft rod over a 12ft rod, I think the best Harrison barbel all-rounder rod must be the 11ft Torrix 1.75lb. I reckon very few people using a 12ft rod would think "I wish this rod was shorter/only 11ft, but a fair few would think "I wish this 11ft rod was...

Depends on how thick @Matt White. The easiest way by far is to use a needle threader (that cost next to nothing).

I've been using Gripz off and on for a few years now, and exclusively this season, and have found them to be very sharp excellent hooks. I 'get a man in' 😂 When I decided to move house 22yrs ago one of my major requirements was for a smaller garden, as my previous one was well over an acre. Hmmm, well my new garden was smaller, but over 50yds long .... but only 5mins from the Teme. And it's great for loading line onto spools...

I've tried many set-ups including resting them on a tripod or a storm pole with a butt grabbing on, but in many situations net below has been adequate for use with thigh waders.
