Mark Tunley built my 2 Avon rods a few years ago, still love them. For heavier Barbel fishing I was lucky to get 2 Dave Lumb 2.5 tc Barbel Rods in 12ft. They certainly don’t feel too powerful for fishing when needing a heavier lead, a nice controlled action.
The Harrison Avon 1.25 tc rod is 11ft and has a surprisingly powerful butt section. I happily use them for Barbel on the Hampshire Avon in the summer when the River is low and delicate presentation is the order of the day.
I had a Darent Valley rod a few years back and sold it on. The blank was ok but the handle was a thin veneer of cork over what looked like white foam pipe lagging.
I have 2 mint condition Ray Walton Centrepins not the light weights. Any suggestions for what I should advertise them for? Can’t see any for sale at the moment to judge the right price. Thanks in advance.
Possibly a bit sweeping, but i have not known anyone to buy Mainline Bait.
Most Carp anglers I have encountered over the years quietly working and spending their valuable free time fishing have mostly put their trust in quality baits such as Nutrabaits Trigga or BFM when Bill ran the company...
For rucksacks I use ex British Army Bergen for Carp Fishing and an ex British Army Day Pack for Barbel Fishing. Both will be still be going strong long after I retire from fishing.
