Very poignant film Phil.
It brought back the reverence l had for that iconic shop and venue,… as well as Throop etc.
After all,.. I ended up moving house because the love was so strong!
Whatever the blank I’ve got a soft spot for that rod, It’s caught me some wonderful fish over the years.
I lost the whipped-on isotope with a wrap-round ages ago but it keeps on keeping on.🙂
I’ve been using a Wychwood Rover net for the past 9 years which isn’t bad. Teardrop frame 22” wide,.. extends to 7’.
I brought it in D.Tackle Christchurch. Didn’t like the netting as I thought it too shallow so Nigel fitted a deeper net in the shop. It has a belt clip which could also be...
Hi guys,.. it’s freezing and the rivers are over the banks again so I’ve spent a bit of time trying to find some info on a favourite rod that I’ve had since I brought it from a work mate some 30 odd years ago,…. ( retirements such a wonderful thing!)
The rod is an 11’ Rodcraft North Western...
I recall a similar question being posted on here back around 2018 Peter,… maybe worth checking the archives.
It was rumoured that some were built on Harrison blanks but nothing definitive was forthcoming on that particular thread.
I’ve still got the Giant MB Ouse barbel that I brought donkeys...
Ah,.. being charged by the Sopley bull 😂
Just to think I’d been reassuring club members that he was an old softy before ending up soaked, muddied and a quivering wreck!😂😂
This thread is about river scenes so I don’t post riverbank wildlife pics that often but I do try to include something interesting in a scene if I can. People often ask how close I get for some of the wildlife image’s I’ve taken,… I usually show them this pic of a fox gazing at its reflection...
Not superimposed,.. just lucky to live in a wildlife corridor. I’ve taken literally thousands of fox images these past few years along both Stour and Avon as well as videos ,… pity we can’t put videos up on here.🙂🦊
Ha,.. there’s a couple of regular fox visitors that don’t seem to mind acting as props for my photos Dave. I wouldn’t say they were tame, they just seem to accept my presence but no one else’s. I do give them a few dog biscuits ( kibble) as a reward but they seem to prefer hinders elips pellets!
I couldn’t justify spending that amount of dosh on a single angling item tbh, although fishing gear is cheap compared with my other love ( photography).
I do have a Richard Carter Aerial Perfection cp ,.. but that was a gift from back in ‘97 from my old club,.. lovely reel but I wouldn’t pay...
A rare winter glimpse of my platform just emerging from high water a couple of weeks ago one frosty morning taken on the phone . There’s currently just over a metre of Stour coloured water over it today which seems to be the norm.
I am G.,… Silstar for general trotting , GR 60 for barbel.
It was a last minute decision the night before to respool with 100mtrs. When I looked in my line store cupboard I’d not restocked with Silstar and only had an old spool of DFF besides shed loads of 12lb GR.
O/T. I’m surprised the Hardy...
I’ve used my line dispenser for donkeys years,… it’s permanently in place at one end of the long garage. I knocked it up in my old engineering workshop. I suspected at the time that I hadn’t put enough tension on the spool when loading the pin. The line isn’t as bad as it looks,… I grabbed this...
