Are you happy to pay to watch fishing videos?

I find watching more and more of the older 90s/00s on YouTube lately as the new stuff has become tiresome. I always check weekly for new Barbel / Chub videos and there are so many anglers now who Vlog and churn out the same old stuff. They basically sit on the same stretch, all use the same...

    Flood Conditions...

A lot of flood water fishing starts in the Summer. Take pictures of the pegs you fish and look for drops / ledges where fish could sit when there is extra water on. As others have said, slack water and a roving approach work well. If you haven’t had a fish in 10-mins then move on as it’s...

Anyone had any scary/paranormal experiences on the bank?

I had this during the Summer on the Avon this year. Couldn’t move and vaguely remember shouting my mates name out. Very scary at the time.

    Bank chair

Fox duralite. Not cheap but every well built and light as a feather. IMO the best chair out there and you can’t put a price on convenience when on the bank.

    Milk proteins

Here’s some paste I just mixed up - took about 6-mins and that included making a coffee:

    Milk proteins

Problem there is you have the danger of every man and his dog using the same bait as you. When I’m down the river I’m pretty confident I’m the only person using the recipe I mix up.

    Milk proteins

JB also has a number of vids on YouTube which are super helpful, he also replies to emails with detailed responses. He is a big endorser of “exact measurements” so make sure you buy some of the plastic syringes if you get any of his flavours. I can highly recommend the newly re-issued...

    Milk proteins

I’ve struggled on a specific part of the Warks Avon for for over a year without a single barbel. I got some JB baits Taste F2 mix and Search 4 flavour and made up a load of boilies (as loose feed) and had two fish in two nights. I have every confidence in the bait now and primarily use it as...

Speedia Wide Drum - lost screw

Thanks, It’s just the screw that’s missing, the fulcrum is still attached to the ratchet spring. I’ll try Gary as he was next on the list.

Speedia Wide Drum - lost screw

So, this pin has lasted nn’years on the planet and then the first outing to the river with me and I’ve managed to lose the screw that holds the release lever pin in place !!! Gawd knows how though as I didn’t knock / drop it at all. Does anyone have one spare please that I could buy off them ?

Fishing the swim next to someone

Last few times I’ve fished a popular Warks Avon stretch there has been a guy diving for Roman artefacts. No problem with this but he swims right up to your pallet and doesn’t have a care in the world, might be a bit different when a 6oz lead drops on his head !!!

Hi - I’ll take this please if still available ?

    Braid for a Pin

Thanks for the confirmation. Dumb question alert - why would you use a 1m please ? I thought the whole point of using braid is that you are in direct contact with the weight (plasticine) & bait and the braid allows you to “feel” what’s going on at the business end ?

    Rucksacks

They look similar but the Drennan looks to have a separate top section which would be useful for smaller items (without having to access the main rucksack). But then the Saber has slots for banksticks which the Drennan doesn’t. The Saber can be had for £45, cheaper when eBay have their 10%...

    Rucksacks

Saber Supra Compact Rucksack for me. Perfect for roving as you can clip / strap roll mats and other bits onto it. Used mine for 3 years now and wouldn’t be without it.
