Look at a Ray Walton 11ft rod. You can get them used for about £90 on eBay. Awesome rod with a lovely action and perfect for regular reels and pins (my preference) alike.

I normally have a MEDIUM one towards the rod tip and a LARGE one a foot below it. This is an image of x2 LARGE ones on a 1.75LB Greys Prodigy rod (as I’ve run out of MEDIUM sized ones).
