Phil,I will educate her,if she does not conform I will part ex for a younger slimmer model, mind you she could be thinking the same, all the best for the coming season.Jamie
Hi Dave,it really is a joke having to pay a years subs for a few months fishing,I still can't get my head round it how things have gone,I'm suppose to be going down there end of July and not sure whether to buy a new membership plus 15.00 joining fee not bad after 20 years in club or just buy...
Hello John hope your well mate,I don't think CAC committee will see the true loss off membership numbers until this coming dec/jan and as they pay for somerley monthly I can't see them getting out of the red they definitely don't come across as wanting to keep as many members as possible with...
CAC deluded
I sent the club a e-mail asking if they would be lowering the membership fee with the loss of somerley at the end of dec/jan and bearing in mind I would not be joining until July, got a lovely reply saying they have no intentions of dropping the fee,I'm wondering if they are...
The magical June 16,last season it was on a Sunday I was fishing the lovely somerley estate speaking to a couple of friends during the day who were on different parts of the estate we could not believe that between us we had counted no more than 10 anglers on the 3 plus mile of double bank...
I can't remember the last time barbel and chub spawned on the stretch of the hants avon I fish before June 16,but do know the last few seasons they have been (at it) mid July onwards.I don't fish still waters or canals and don't have a problem not fishing for 3 months.
I spent a few days on the hants avon which was still in flood making access to a lot of the water impossible,I had 2 barbel of 9.9 and 14.2 well happy with them also a couple of chub one of which was a new pb of 7.2.Having said this it feels me with sadness that this could be the last end of...
I think the club will (plough) any savings they make on somerley in to lakes and not rivers. How many stretches of rivers have they given up or lost over the last number of years. The premier club in the south east boast the clubs home page don't make me laugh.Jamie
They will still have two small ponds at Ibsley for the next 65 years, which they deemed to be more important to the club than the rest of somerley fishing. All in all a right proper F--- Up.It was their way or no way. Enough said. Jamie
Neil, most of CAC avon waters are day ticket stretches available from local tackle shops so are not exclusive to members, the horseport fishery has only 4 swims.I have just left this club after the best part of 20 yrs as I feel the committee have their own agenda on how the club is run and...
