    Best pellets

Isn't it all in our heads that one brand will out fish the other? Sonubaits Spicy Sausage, doesn't smell a million miles away from Dynamites Meat furter. And the AD own brand meaty ground bait smells pretty much the same as Meat Furter. A Halibut pellet is a Halibut pellet, no matter what bag...

    Korum tackle box bundle

It looks a bit bulky for roving sessions but the new Blox Pouch looks interesting and I had my eye on getting one but not managed to see one in the shop yet.

    Korum tackle box bundle

Do you mean the the Blox? I've had the smaller roving version when all my gear was pretty much Korum. It was ok, clips were quite tight to close and open and the baiting needles are poor, but you can get replacements from AliExpress if and when they break. The compartments seemed sized to hold...

    Warwickshire Avon

If the BAA took over it wouldn't be in any better state than it is now, probably even more fires and swimmers once those Yellow signs went up 🤣👍🏻

    Warwickshire Avon

Yeah shame it closed, I won't miss her little dog though, that thing had my ankles more times than I'd like 🤣

    Warwickshire Avon

Yeah you used to be able to fish the pub side and pay for a day ticket at the bar (if we're talking about AM) There didn't seem many pegs though, I think I only found 1 or 2 at most.

    10ft rod

I've had a waggle of the 1.75 version of the 10ft Xtractor specialist, thought it was quite soft for its length and rating so the heavier version might be what you're after?

    Pellet size.

I'm hardly one to try and give advice, but smallest hook bait I use is around 12mm, be that either a pellet or boilie (mainly though I have a 15mm on the hook) . I'm fishing for Barbel but don't mind the Chub, and we all know how big their mouths are. I don't want any other nuisance fish picking...

Stef Horak - Bait and wait.

I'll stick to source boilies 🤣👍🏻

Stef Horak - Bait and wait.

How much is a pint of casters these days? I know I've gone through a bag of source boilies in a 5 hour session 🤣 My trips are getting expensive

Stef Horak - Bait and wait.

Does he still fish with smaller baits when the Barbel scene is now full of boilies and bigger pellets?

    How much bait?

Thanks mate, think I'll soak the rest of my pellets in a liquid

    How much bait?

It's just I've read and watched a few Barbel related articles/videos where it's been said a pint of hemp or PVA bags do very little. Now I'm obviously skeptical if these anglers seem to be trying to sell the bait they are sponsored by but no mention of any brand was present. The one angler...

    How much bait?

Hi guys, For those of you who fish the W.Avon, how much bait are putting in? I'm concentrating my efforts on Barton again this year on the BAA waters. I'm always unsure if to feed very little and move after 30-45mins or sit it out in one swim and feed consistently throughout the session. To...

    Braid choice for hooklinks

I have some of that Guru Supernatural mono in the tackle pouch. Will be switching to just mono or Fluoro hooklinks, long lengths of braid I'm not confident are sitting tight to the bottom.

    Braid choice for hooklinks

Yep, ESP Tungsten loaded or Soft Ghost for me now.

    Braid choice for hooklinks

Just tested 10lb Drennan Gravel braid and 18lb Korda Basix in the sink. Both seem to float pretty well. Drennan Supplex Fluoro sunk like a brick. I'm not confident using uncoated braid now so will be using either a Tungsten coated or Fluoro.

    Braid choice for hooklinks

The only Tungsten coated braid I've tried so far is the semi stiff ESP stuff. I really like it but find I can't straighten it by hand and need to steam it, so not ideal on the bank for me fishing shorter sessions. Would be ok if I used it in carp rig lengths that would fit onto the rig board in...
