My crucian campaign has started in earnest. After a few tough sessions I finally managed to find a few fish. I had several over 2lbs topped off by a couple of real crackers going 3lb 2oz and a 3lb 11oz, which equals my PB. My angling buddy Spamalot, has also managed a few beauties, but that's...
A standard butterfly rest. Works a treat. They do a nice range in large white, tortoiseshell, small blue and green hairstreak. Using anything else would be a cardinal error.
Hi James. Firstly well done on such a stonking fish. I fish the bit down from there, so I'm hoping it swims downstream a bit!!
I know it goes a bit deeper than 'well its just fishing'. Your integrity has been called into question and that can rile any of us. I think Clive has done as much...
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this belief that light tackle exhausts barbel to the point of no return. I am certainly no expert, but over the last few weeks I have caught about 8 or 9 barbel ranging from about 4lb to 10lb 5oz on roach tackle i.e. 3.2lb mainline and 2.6lb bottom. In all...
Thanks fellas. Paul not where you're thinking!! And yes I would love to have a bash at anywhere that holds good dace. I'll await your PM! :)
I'll post a picture tomorrow afternoon after work.
I managed a new PB dace recently. I'm pleased to say I set my stool out to target dace and roach on this particular venue and was rewarded with a 14oz dace. I know it's not enourmous but anything over 12oz is pretty big. I'm hoping to get a pound plus dace, although with little of this season...
I bought a second hand set (cheapskate that I am) of Ron Thompson Digis a couple of years back and they are brilliant. Small and compact and very accurate. Not replaced the battery yet either. Mind you I haven't exactly used them alot.:)
Well it was a tough day on the Hants Avon today. Water was quite coloured, so not ideal. Levels looked OK though. Ended up on a carrier which was around 2' 6" deep. Managed to take fish steadily throughout the day. Around 15 or 16 grayling to about 1lb 4oz, similar amount of trout including...
