Dilly with the Tilly and she's quite a filly :)
She can certainly out fish certain people I could mention Mr Collins! :D
Great picture Dan and please send my hearty congratulations. By far the prettiest barbel angler I've ever seen.
Has anybody used the Daiwa Regals? Thinking of getting one. My Fox Stratos' (which I thought were great in the early days), have just about seized up. My Mitchell Avorunner is struggling a bit too.
I'm going to a stretch tomorrow that holds some real beasties. It's incredible to watch a shoal of fish where most look to be over 2lbs and with a couple pushing 3lb! Now catching them, well that's another matter entirely. :)
You can go size 4 or 6. As said, hooked just the once. I have used up to 3 lobs per hook. Works wonders sometimes. Overall a single lob is a great bait for chub and perch. Had a few barbel on them, but not loads to be fair and even roach and tench.
I've seen Canada geese do it during fights, when one is getting particularly harassed by a more dominant male.
Ducks dive a lot and to a reasonable depth, as already stated. I'm sure one on my local lake is related to Jacques Cousteau. :)
I agree, that's about as selfish as you can get. They should have their bivvies taken down (ooh err) and have their wotsits removed (permits, that is). Bloody disgusting. Can you not report them to the club?
20KG of hemp for £25.99. I just purchased some from a well known tackle store for £37.99. There may be a difference in the quality of the hemp or there may not!
Good site, worth a look.
I must say I have always rated Drennan products. I have several rods which I am delighted with, a reel which is excellent and I've used floats and other terminal tackle/bits and bobs for years and can't fault them. I just find his stuff to be superb.
Its certainly not easy at the moment. The night time temperatures are keeping the water temp down. Once this picks up then they will start to become much more active. It has improved over the last couple of nights. I think we'll start to see a real difference now.
