If you can find one Daiwa N'zon S 13Ft - 180g NZSF1303XXXPQ-AX is very good. especially for longer chucks where heavier leads are needed.
Friend bought the Z version and returned it after trying the S saying the action of the cheaper S version was better or to use his words 'The S knocks spots...
Evening Simon,
Sent you a PM on MD about this. I won't be renewing this year, not down to the the price hike, made the decision on the basis that I have two other club memberships that gives me access to plenty of waters that are closer and easier to get to for me.
Will say that although I...
Given the reports of record high Winter temperatures across Europe is there a likelihood of Barbel feeding more frequently throughout Winter and retaining the weight gain, possibly resulting in new river records being broken or will they lose weight from now until spawning ?
My resolution was to catch a Barbel. :) Day one of the New Year and achieved it already with two today, No record breakers at 8Lb 2 Oz and 9 Lb 10 Oz, but after 4 blank sessions they were most welcome.
I am hoping it won't be over the banks by Friday, this morning it's 1.324 up and rising. Given the expected rain due today & tomorrow I will be watching closely to see where to go on Friday.
River Trent at Farndon 1.206 and rising at 20:00 Hrs tonight, above typical high of 0.91 for the time of year.

Hobby/Pastime same thing I suppose the only distinction I can see is a Hobby is something that you do often and repeatedly, for some to the exclusion of any other interest a pastime is something you do once / twice a year...
It appears he steps on overgrowing vegetation believing that there is solid bank underneath. Could be the close proximity of the un-hooking mat to the edge led him to unconsciously step around it.
Had one or two slips and scary moments down rain soaked banks at Fiskerton on the Trent...
Thank you everyone for the encouragement and tips, it's very much appreciated. 👍👍 I have taken myself out the back and and given my head a good boffing ! 🤣 I think I am over the disappointment of the overnight session now and raring to get out and try a few tweaks thanks to the support I...
Hi Richard as it happens I was planning a Saturday/Sunday bankside. Depending on the likely river level then Fiskerton could be good, but I know the banks can be treacherous if more rain soaks in between now and then depending on which pegs you are thinking of going on. I know the last time...
Thanks for the replies everyone, have realised I had stoked my expectations up for the overnight session higher than I should have, although the river did fine down overnight the weather conditions and the stretch of the river itself all pointed to a bonanza session, that will teach me ! 😁...
