Destruction of habitat on my river today.Normally shallow and clear, every bit of cover is safe haven from predators. Not from today.
You can’t compare summer conditions to winter, but here’s a before and after on the river today .
I’ll admit,I’m not a tackle tart.😄 And my rods don’t get treated with kid gloves. So I’m more comfortable with the budget end when it comes to rods.😊
I do have a short video of the Fox eos from a couple of weeks ago. That would show its action when I landed a 5lb. chub,if that’s any help to the...
I have a couple of Korum rods, and find them good value for money. But I use a Fox eos 11’ 1.75lb. on my little river for barbel and chub, and I‘m very happy with it.I think I paid under £60 for it.

But now I’m retired,I hate perfection,it’s like a weight of my shoulders.So I’ll be...
Too hot for me too.And you’re right about it’s a good time for a recce.I’m walking the banks and finding lots of features, gravel bars, deeper holes etc.
My river is desperately low,and I don’t think anyone should be trying to catch barbel in just inches of warm water.Having said that, the barbel...
I use Bank tackle quick change swivels, and standard swivels, came highly recommended by other anglers.I would use their hooks after what others have said about the quality. But Pallatrax Gripz are my first choice.
