Clutch, i can think of a hundred reasons for not backwinding and also as many for not faffing around with a centrepin :) each to their own though,whatever you're happiest with, oh and rear drags are usually pony !!
Optilabs Ultra 2000 / Drivewear lenses are very good, the vari tint is very effective in changing light (much better than bronze lenses in low light. I sold mine this year because i wanted a pair of Maui Jim HTs, they are fantastic but its best to have a second pair of bronze ones for bright...
Very nice :) Question Bob, is there any way nowadays of doing a matt/satin varnish on whippings ? ala Terry Eustace, Pete Evans rods of old, looks much nicer on a matt blank imo.

Hi Terry, no nothing as complicated as that ! just a choice of two baits, plain old TPs straight out of the bag and the other bait that can be used boiled or paste, no added flavours in either.
