This is very true @Chris Guy Some parts of the Thames are clear at times of the year, but as I said previously, I think im just over thinking it due to my lack of catches!!
Need to get some fish in the net!!
Just booked 2 days on the Wye at Lucksall Park, Herefordshire week after next so that will be a start to regaining the confidence in my rigs, HOPEFULLY!!!!!!
I guess I'm just over thinking the whole situation in my head, fishing harder venues you do begin to question things whilst blanking.
Need to get myself down to the Wye / Trent, as previously suggested, to get a few fish on the bank.
I have Daiwa SS2600 and Korum 2lb tc rods as my normal go to gear.
The new reel I want is to go on a stalking rod that will be used for barbel/pike/carp fishing
In that post you say you wouldnt use the 4000 on the trent with big feeders, how come?
I want something that is going to be used more as a stalking set up, with the occasional lure fishing / barbel session
My missus bought me a Korum Opportunist 8ft 2lb rod so im looking for a reel to couple with it.
Dont really want to spend more than £50 if I can help it.
Must be front drag.
Been looking at the Shimano 4000 ST FB and the Korum Zelos 4000 - Anyone used either of these?
Any other...
Do you mix it with anything or use it on its own?
I fish the Thames alot, which has hardly any flow most of the year, im thinking I could use it to create a bed of small items and mix some pellets in too.
