Don't get me started on local tackle shops. I tried to support my local tackle shop in High Wycombe when I first moved into the area about 10 years ago (no prizes for guessing who, their reputation preceeds them and I was warned that I probably didn't want to shop there) but a **** attitute...
Fishing with new friends on new wild waters in the most stunning scenary. I have missed my old muckers though back in the UK.
Graham, sorry we never got to fish as much as I would have liked. If you ever get to this side of the pond :).

Another well angled fish Keith, congrats again. You still need to come over here and show us how to catch these bloody Carp. No maggots here though mate.
A brew kit is a required piece of kit for WBC members. Heavy fines for not being able to provide a brew when you have visitors on the bank. The only exception is Mike who's butler is expected to have the required kit.
I kind of find myself agreeing with Paul, the fact that a species was once "indigenous" doesn't wash as a good arguement. Wolves and bears were once indigenous but I don't see anybody rushing to reintroduce them.
Although, acutually...
I think there is a big difference between unintended invasives (like the grey squirrel, norwegian rats, or mitten crabs) and those that were bough in under licence and escaped (like crays or mink). Not a lot you can do about the unintended ones, it's going to happen. The licenced escapies though...
I have to admit, one of my pet hates is arriving at a swim to find it covered in cigarette butts. They are not biodegradable and they look a fugging mess, take the damn things home
Oh god, what an uninformed article (Bighead Carp and Silver Carp are filter feeders for a start, not plant eaters). Have they not learnt the lessons from the US where this fish has virtually wiped out native species in the waters that it has invaded by destroying the food chain from the bottom...
Unfortunately not something that is only restricted to the UK.
Fished a local lake here at the weekend that has a nice little fishing pier with several rubbish bins on it and benches to sit on only to find it scattered with rubbish including an almost full family sized bag of crisps that was...
Generally PVA mesh for pellet, feeder for crumb. Althought I would also choose to use PVA and a light lead where I think the disturbance of retrieving a feeder might be an issue. There are also times when I've used both together.

Tony,
If you're interested in the middle Severn then you might want to consider a Bridgnorth and District card. It's a little further as the water is above Bridgnorth but it's a lovely, long stretch (from Cantern Brook/High Rock upstream to the Brook at Hifnal/Wrens Nest, which is about...
