    Great question Mike.

    Angling mail

I still subscribe to them both, with my edition this week there was no news on it finishing, let's see if the news is in next weeks.

Sad, wonder if Angling Times will go the same way.

    £14 or £14-50 a day, off by 22-30.

    Anglers mail article

It won't stop him writing something controversial again, he would have had a proof to approve before they went to print.

    Anglers mail article

Correct Alex, on a lot of our river sections members can fish (with night permit) until 23-30 until end of October and 22-00 from 1st November until end of season, some stretches can be night fished. You are correct in that it depends how the committee is made up, I like to think that Ringwoods...

    Anglers mail article

I know Pete well and I'm happy for him to fish in daylight, that's his choice, he should be happy for people to fish when they want as long as it is legal . Apart from my trips to the Wye this season I have only fished my local waters 5 times this season, Pete fishes them nearly every day, in 3...

    Digital Scales

The RH 7000 are brilliant the 9000 not so good, I have both and only use the 9000's when I am not expecting anything special or when getting rid of weight from bag. I check them regularly against RH dial scales and both are accurate. I tried a set of Fox digitals in a shop and weighed a heavy...

I have a canon gx7, bought over 4 years ago and still haven't taken a photo of a fish with it - one day!

    Algal bloom on the Wye

Hope it has gone by beginning of July when I have a week booked, last year the water looked like malt vinegar and it definitely affected the fishing.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Nowhere near as many barbel caught as 15 years ago, cormorants an issue and otters were a major problem but has got better over the last few years.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

NOT a local decision Graham, I have confirmed with them that the stocking policy is national and that is what I am disputing it with. They are having to provide the information regarding all the stocking that have taken place and the reasons they were allowed. Chris Guy, they aren't saying...

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Doesn't hold water as far as Dorset Stour is concerned as we stocked 1500 in 2014 and the EA stocked 12000 at Blandford in the 90's.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Nothing to do with game fishers, none on Throop or anywhere else on the Dorset Stour.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Steve No reason in writing yet, all sorts of nonsense and as for stocking barbel into the Hampshire Avon it is a DEFINITE NO, we have tried.

Barbel stocked in the Somerset Levels

Concerning, all this talk of rivers being stocked that barbel haven't been in before, I have been refused permission by the EA to stock them into Throop on the Dorset Stour, even though we stocked them into there in 2014 with EA permission. Needless to say I am fighting this but at the moment...

    Angling Trust

The trouble is that if night fishing was banned there would be a lot more travelling back and forwards. Neil, as long as anglers are obeying the rules I am happy for them, doesn't affect me as I don't night fish or fish lakes but happy for the ones that do.

    Angling Trust

The doom merchants who thought there was no night fishing were wrong, I have spoken to the Angling trust and angling is classed as a exercise and you can take unlimited exercise, camping isn't and that's why you cannot do that.

Sad times just makes us think

My wife normally goes to work in her uniform to a dementia home, she now has to leave her uniform at work to be washed so she isn't bringing any infection out or taking any in. Commonsense if you think about it, not bureaucratic rules Derek.
