I had a meeting with the water company today, they aren't sure what they are going to do but will be coming back to the club by the end of February. Hopefully Nigel will post but at the moment there are no plans for it to be sold, it will close at the end of business on March 14th. Really sad as it has been there for over 80 years but Nigel has to do what is best for Helen and himself.

This December we stocked another 200 barbel into Throop, these were supplied from the EA hatchery at Calverton and are about 12 inches in length. 17 of them have radio tags in them which will emit signals for 12/18 months. We have receivers on about 5 miles of river which will pick up signals...

A little odd it says undisclosed river - river rother! It wasn't declared in the river records on this forum or the British record fish list.

After my previous post regarding the secrecy of the previous records venue the angling times have published it as the Rother today, I assume it doesn't matter now the record isn't from there!!!.

Correct Tim but it was the first time the venue for the barbel record wasn't named, I understand why it wasn't but still find it sad that because of the circus who will know where it came from "normal" anglers aren't told.

The good thing is at least it has been caught from a river that has been named , better than the "secrecy" surrounding the present record which as far as I am aware is the only british record that has been accepted without the venue being released. I know where it came from as I assume most...

I started when I was about 6 (a long time ago) on the mill lodges around Manchester fishing for goldfish with my mother keeping an eye out for the keeper.

I wear muckboots all the time and have Never had any issues with them, the ones I am currently wearing are all about 6 years old, ankle boots in summer, tweed in autumn and arctic sport in winter, I take a size 9 shoe and buy 10's in muckboots.
