For those who use bite alarms

Richard, Not quite the same. I cant imagine trotting a delkim, or a quiver tip.

For those who use bite alarms

No but it sounds as if you have been, just because he uses a pin. As I said it is down to the person fishing to the conditions, and he certainly does that if you take the trouble to read what he has written.

For those who use bite alarms

I have seen many instances of bad angling with idiots on fixed spool reels, trying to land a good fish with hooks that are far too small or line that is totally inadequate BS, and therefore exhausting a good fish in the time it took to land it. It is absolutely nothing to do with what type of...

For those who use bite alarms

Getting back to the original question from Wayne I have a pair of Wychwood signature alarms. They are compact, light, and have adjustable tone, sensitivity and volume all for less than £20. I don't use them all the time for Barbel, but I do at this time of year for Tench. I met Phil Smith at...

    Cold Cold Hands

I have a pair of yellowish leather gloves that have a lining that I got from a garden center. I cut the tip off each thunb and fore finger so I could bait up without taking them off. They do quite a good job of keeping my hands warm.

    The Fishing race

Going Brothers, they used to sell everything you could think of for rod building, to make any type of rod for every fish there was. I has a lovely 13ft one piece beach caster which had a light weight metal butt, and that coupled with a mithchel 602 used to bring in some cod.

    3 16lbers in one sitting.

Nigel thank you for sharing your experience with us, with out a doubt a unique angling achievement, but I bet you wished you had kept it to your self now with the spoilers trying demean what you have done. Who gives a damn if one of the fish was a repeat capture it is still 3 16lb fish in one...

    Fly Fishermen !

Sam to some it is not a hassle, it is a craft, an art which is not necessarily connected to fishing. I knew some people in the Sussex Fly Dressers Guild who tied some quality flies who never went fishing, however I do understand that the hectic lives we live today it is not always possible to...

    Cheese paste recipe

Make a ball of bread paste, the best base mix there is as all fish will take bread. Grate Canadian Chedar, and add some Danish Blue. Kneed the mix together in the following proportions: 50% bread paste, 25% Canadian Chedar, 25% Danish Blue. Work in a small amount of spreadable butter to get the...
