What do you look for in a rucksack?

David you seem to be much the same as me and cut off much of the unwanted clutter, and sew on all the necessary straps and clips in order to get something that is half right. Colin

What do you look for in a rucksack?

Needs to be as light as possible. Must have straps that will hold my chair. Not interested in waist straps, just shoulder straps will do.

The Barbel Society Barbel Challenge In Aid of The Army Benevolent Fund

That was very well said Shaun. I support two charities The Salvation Army and Water Aid, and I do not respond to hard sells like we have seen on here or people who rattle collection tins at you on the high street. It is not possible to help every charity out so each to their own.

Clearing a run in streamer weed

I think it was Tony Miles and Treffor West who covered this in their book Quest for Barbel. This was in the days when they were pioneering on the Cherwell, if memory serves me right they would cut out small sections of a bed of weed so thet were able to lower a bait in.

Dynamite Spicy Shrimp and Prawn was my favourite, always did well on it with Barbel Tench and Chub, but cant get them anywhere now. Think they must have stopped making them like they did with Meaty Fish Bites. WHY DO THEY DO THAT???

Hello Nick get a good pair of breathable over trousers, problem solved. I used to suffer the same until I got fed up with wet legs last season and got some leggings, just wish I discovered them sooner.

    narrow drum dpeedis

Patrick how many coffee grinders have taken up the challenge??????????????????????? I think most people would agree that different branches of angling are not more skilful than others, they just require different skills.

    narrow drum dpeedis

this person who says the likes of Fred Crouch, Pete Reading, Chris Yates, Bob James, and Keith Spear are irresponsible anglers is like a reincarnated Botte.

    Knots

Al hair rigs a knotless knot. For Fluro, and braid a 4 turn Grinner. For Mono a half blood knot (out of fashion I know, but it has never let me down)
