I Always thought vintage tackle was cheap - but its definately on the up. £250 for an original B James MKIV that is an antique but will still work just as well as a Barder remake that sells for £1200
Bargain.

I, like David, am an optilabs wearer. They are superb glasses, I have the 'Panther' frames and reduce glare amazingly due to the shields around the frame.
Wouldnt swap them for anything!

Me and a friend are making floats, cane rods and other traditional tackle at the moment. We have a website designed but just putting the finishing touches to our business plans right now before we make it live.
Bit of a shameless plug but we have many handmade floats ready for sale or they...
Cheers David,
I posted the same message on the WSF and they said that it was probably going to be a blank except for deepwater marks on the North Coast as you have said. I'll probably still have a blast though weather permitting. You never know! :)

Next week I'll be in South Cornwall for a week with the misses, its an area I know extremely well as I go there most summers. However, I have never been there in the winter.
Basically I have no idea if there will be any fish around to have a chuck for! Anyone know if pollack and wrasse etc...
Same river Paul, slightly different location :) There are grayling to 2lb and probably beyond in there, just cant locate them at the moment, although havent given it a 'proper' go yet!

Today...
Always fancied catching a grayling in the snow and today I got my chance to have a go. Popped down to my local brook armed with some corn, floats, a piece of cane and the 'pin. A nice hours trotting resulted in a couple of grayling and a trout - nothing huge and maybe not ideal...
This season has probably been my most productive despite fishing less than I maybe normally would due to a whole bunch of things. Tended to pick my days for barbel fishing rather than going when I could, resulted in equalling my Bristol Avon PB of 11lb1oz as well as other doubles, most notibly...
Paul,
Have seen them in the Stanley stretch of the Marden from time to time and I recall there being plenty upstream of there. As for BA grayling, I've had 2 or 3 from the bath area, but I think I've told you about that before :)
Cheers
