I was looking forward to reading this thread after seeing your initial post, but you don't seem to have got much of a response!
I don't personally have any experience of the Arrow, but do a lot of my winter roach fishing on the Bristol Avon. Where abouts on the Avon did you used to...
Have a look at an 'Under Amour' base layer. They are the really tight sports tops that you see athletes (and a few footballers) wearing and they are brilliant!
I bought my under armour (there are other brands too) for when I did the Three Peaks Challenge and have used it for fishing ever since...
Plenty of eels on the Warwickshire Avon above Stratford this year. I wish they'd be kind enough to only take a bite out of my meat like that though, it would save me getting 'slimed' all night!
Not especially constructive, but a big well done from me! I really enjoy the site and feel the changes have only improved it.

Unintentionally caught a few eels yesterday on the river Wey in Weymouth (think the venue might be called Radipole lake), all between 2 and 3lb. All came to bread!!! Anyone have any idea about what sort of size they go down there?
