I have a VW Caddy 1.9 TDI that I've converted into a 'stealth' camper. Plenty of room for rods/tackle and a bed in the back. It also has been remapped and the mpg's not bad. I fitted a split-charge relay and a 3Kw inverter that runs off an 85ah leisure battery that runs all mod cons. I've...
My target next season is to thoroughly enjoy myself! You can't measure enjoyment in pounds and ounces (or kilos and whatsits). I've some new venues to fish and can't wait to start. I'm also becoming a pensioner and my license and permits will be cheaper :)
I still have my yellow lens cormorants and wouldn't swap em! They're huge compared to modern glasses but the advantage of that is they fit over my normal specs. Do you wear specs Richard? If so have a look at optilabs based in Croydon.
Nick
Looking at the clubs website the Trent is no night fishing? Or is this a rule for new members? Either way it's no big deal. It's a small but well equipped caddy. It just looks like an ordinary van not a camper.
I'm sure it won't be a problem. My van doesn't look like a camper it's just ordinary. You wouldn't know i was in the back. I've never had a problem in the past.
I got in! Looking forward to next season. Does anybody know if they allow overnight parking in the car parks or do we have to find somewhere to kip down overnight?
What a disgraceful way to treat a customer!! I wonder if you'd been a major client you'd be treated differently. Plenty of rods get sent out by courier every day by the larger tackle retailers, I wonder if they're treated any different when breakages occur? Shocking.
Flanesford priory is good but a bit pricey on your own but is surrounded by great fishing and a nice nearby pub that serves great food and lovely beer. As Mike suggests the Red Lion at Bredwardine but I haven't been there for years. When I first started going to the Wye I rented a cottage for a...
That's encouraging, thanks Richard. I live in the south but enjoy fishing in the midlands. I don't fish at night so sleep in my van. I also like real ale!
I converted a TFG airbomb a while back by removing the floatation gear from the front and filling it with roofers lead and plastercine. A bit Heath-Robinson but it worked ok for short distances. Cast out, wait until it hits the riverbed and pull back sharply to open. Never as good as a spopper...
They look very impressive Richard. I'm suprised that the originators of the Spomb haven't brought out their own versions of the spopper as there's obviously a market for them. Fantastic job.
