No problem Russ. I used a Trakker Pioneer brolly for years even through the winter. Much easier to use than a bivvy and I could get all my kit under it. Trakker gear is well made.
I wouldn't buy anything off facebook mate. I don't use a bivvy but if I was going t buy one I'd go to a reputable dealer. Too many scammers on facebook.
I have a harrison torrix 11ft 1.75 custom built and it's the dogs dooh-dahs! If your budget allows it you won't be disappointed. Mine was built by Roger at Peregrine rods. Treat yourself!
I bought a little gadget that clips on my rod and counts how much line I wind on, and reversing it counts it off. It was about £8 off ebay. I strip the old line off using a battery drill. Not sure I could eat 314 pies but cornish pasties, now your talking!
The sad thing is he's obviously a pretty good angler. Most of us would love a haul like that! It's a shame he has no regard for fish welfare. I find it hard to believe he's on a guided day too.
What this chap did is bloody awful and he's been named and shamed for it but this is only the tip of the iceberg. Every week barbel get put in keepnets during matches. High profile anglers too! Years ago the Barbel Society issued a DVD called 'The Barbel Handling Code' featuring Pete Reading...
For £40 BAA ticket is amazing value for money. You'll have loads of fishing around the Highley/Bridgnorth area. They also have a good website too, look at the 'Where to Fish' section.
Plenty on the BAA ticket around that area, Knowle Sands, Danery etc. There's a tackle shop in town it might pay you to make a few enquiries. I haven't fished up there for a few years now. Some parts near the bridge were free!
