I'm newish to the Trent. Had a couple of sessions. Straight leads and feeders have both caught. Haven't needed more than 2oz yet. Small pellets, corn, small meat and maggots have all induced bites. Good luck.

Yes, very snaggy in the weir pool. You're better off casting up into the pool, as opposed to across into the pool. I've heard it has become very overgrown. The swim at the end of the island used to be decent.

I've been out a couple of evenings on the float, at the tail of a weir pool. Some small chub and decent roach. 3lb line so I don't think I'd have to worry about realising a barbel.
