I have the korum day shelter that can be lowered to fit a bedchair in for an overnighter. Will fit in a rod quiver as well but not the smaller sized ones.

    Big Boots for Big Boys

Just got myself a rather nice bargain on a pair of hi-tec venture walking boots. Popped into ranger surplus in surbiton. The ventures normally sell at £120 but managed to get a pair for £70 as the were on an introductory offer :D.

    Big Boots for Big Boys

Paul, can you recommend a decent set of walking boots, waterproof and breathable etc? Will be using them on the bank and for walking the dog.

    Selfish boaters. Grrrrrrrr

Molesey Rowing club seem to be the worst I have encountered so far. Had serious words with quite a few of them recently and also emailed the club secretary. Considering the Thames around Sunbury etc. is over 100 yards wide I see no reason for them to be 10 foot from the bank.

    whats your pb?

11lb 8oz from a flooded Thames last year. Had an 8lb 30 minutes before that so by far my best night on the Thames ever.

    Selfish boaters. Grrrrrrrr

The rowers on the Thames I find to be a bunch of ignorant and very selfish people. I am going to start firing boilies at them if they continue to row so close to the bank while I am fishing.

    Big Boots for Big Boys

Had my Tay muckboots for nearly 2 years now and found no problems with them. Can be a little cold in the winter but an extra pair of socks usually sorts that out.

    What Shelter/Brollie thingy?

The korum day shelter will not fit into a 2 rod total protection Holdall but the korum 60 inch brolly does.

what is it with bats and isotopes?

'Bat bites!' Get them all the time on the Thames, usually when they have flown into my lines.

    Boilies

Had good results using Carp Company Caviar & Cranberry, squid glm & Caviar and also their spicy lobster. Going to have a try with Dynamites Spicy Crab & Garlic soon. Monster crab was a good bait years ago.

    Tackle bag stinks

Used to leave my bag smelling bad on purpose so that when i was on the bank i could sniff it and think of the ex.

    Daiwa Sensor Clear or GR60?

Doh! Loaded one of my 5000 RE's with GR60, was half way through loading one of my 6000 XTEA's and the spool ran out!! Forgot that I had also loaded it onto a couple of reels i use for the occasional carp trip! Off to the tackle shop i go! :(
