I have a Saber Supra Floatation Retention Weigh Sling that i use for carping at the moment but i am going to try it for barbel when i hit the Thames a little later. £30 on Ebay and it folds down very compact.
Big thumbs up from me as well. The screen on my 9000's was barely visible so I sent them off with a cheque for £20 and they sent me a replacement within a few days.

Still use a pair of Muck boots when down the river but recently bought a pair of Vass Fleece lined boots for my carping. Used them in France for the first time and they are very comfy and warm and no laces to deal with.
Been walking around Dessie/Vandals island a fair bit lately and it seems to be a favourite spot for EE's. Lots of litter, bonfires and signs of fish being cooked on the bank so i would give the area a miss. Have a look between Walton bridge and hampton court. Aragon Avenue used to be a good spot...
Gonna go through it with the old memsahib tonight. She was pretty insistant that we go to the New Forest and at Sandyballs you can only use tents in August.......And she is very insistant about staying in a tent as well!!

Looking at doing a few days camping with the missus but also with the chance of a little fishing as well. Anyone know of any campsites that have a stretch of river on site. Im in Surrey so needs to be below the midlands.
Whenever i have pre-baited i have drawn in shoals of bream, meaning i have just packed up early and gone home!! I know of people that do pre-bait and have had some very nice Barbel.
Think my new plan of attack is going to be a light sprinkling of loosefeed and then a heavily glugged boilie...
