I always find this interesting ‘i have found them to outfish Halibut 2-1’
By that evidence, they must be twice as good however, i tried them for a season & didn’t really do very well. Did slightly better on the Hinders elipse but noticeably better on Dynamite Halibut.
Everyone has a favourite...
Tried all sorts of fancy things over the years but Dynamite Marine Halibut seem as good as anything to me and are ready available at a good (ish) price. I’ve been using them as feed though (6&8mm) with a 12mm halibut boilie on the hair
Anywhere where there are big fish, weather it be Barbel, Carp, Bream, Tench etc will attract a lot of people too. Again, most are at least in their mid 40’s from what i can see. I think it will go the other way and in 20 years or so hardly anyone will be fishing the rivers.
We had a similar...
Not sure if we will get to that stage tbh?
There is a lot of ‘hard work’ (in the form of less decent access, planning due to levels & just the fact the water is constantly moving & changing etc, etc) which is one reason i think Carp fishing has become so popular…..it’s easy. Not slating anyone...

I’v got same set up along with ‘Lens Buddy’ app so it takes a series of shots after the initial press (however many & speed you ask it to). Works well & even though i normally avoid Korum stuff these days find the light useful especially when packing up in the dark
There is also Hampton Springs (about 10 mins from Bolesworth) if you want your carp fix? It’s a commercial complex with a specimen lake. Well run, good shop & café if that floats your boat or its too hot for the river
There is Emstrey which is £8 on line. Nice stretch about 11/2 mile of bank just outside of Atcham. Good, safe carpark and a variety of swims to go at? (Theres a few videos on YouTube).

Think you can do both tbh? I burned myself out back in the early 2000’s in my pursuit of big fish and promised myself it wouldn’t happen again. It’s all about catching of course but i dont nightfish, travel (reasonably) light and still enjoy my surroundings whilst fishing. I also love going in...
I used the net last season. Great, well made and ‘did the job’ but got fed up with it as awkward to carry. Best was on top of my rucksack but still found it to get in the way somehow. Gone back to a drennan 32” triangle so it fits in the quiver.
Easy to walk in. I thought they’d just clog up & hold mud but they dont. No more slip, sliding and i used to get a bad back from constantly tensing up to stop sliding but have learnt to relax now and can even get in swims i’d never have done without them. I can honestly say that i’ve never felt...
