Graham,
Thanks for the heads up regarding the German army waterproofs. I sent off for the trousers and wore them this weekend to a motorcycle rally in N.Wales,620 mile round trip mostly in heavy rain. I stayed perfectly dry, best 30 odd quid I've ever spent.
Again, many thanks.
Regards
Pete.
Another "yes" for Sundridge Sleepskin. Have had mine for about eight winters now, agree it does go a bit bobbly after a lot of washes but not a problem for me. Great to use for winter motorcycling as well.
John, getting your wife home in time for Christmas, must have been the very best present indeed.
My gifts included both of the Caught in the Act DVD's Part 1-4 by Bob Roberts, The Beatles live at the BBC collection, Harry Redknapps book ,and a pair of waterproof motorcycle trousers(ready for...
Ray, that must be at least 2 brollies this year. We had a brief chat at Padworth towards the end of last season on the day that a brolly had let go on you. At least Santa knows what's on your wish list. Top man for giving it a go today.
I've just been bought a Nikon Coolpix S6600. Although the timer max is 10 secs.,it does have a flip round screen and shots can be triggered using a hand gesture (no jokes I'm being serious) which is fine with small fish so I'm considering getting a bulb air release system for it,which should be...
Shame to hear about Trafford Angling. Always found them very helpful on the phone. I've got two of their tripods,a double Mk1 and a single Mk2 and never had a problem with instability as just use an old airdry bag with a few rocks in hung off the hook. Found them ideal on rocky sections of The...
Another reel that might be worth considering is the Daiwa Emcast BR5000A.This comes with 2 spools and 2 handles (double and single),is front drag with a baitrunner facility and good line capacity (310m of14lb).I'm not sure if this is a new model or not, just read the test in TCF.
Pete.
Steve,
I was just glad to find someone who still had the 6000D in stock. Fair play to you regarding the pricematch, as D's are getting thin on the ground although plenty of EU's are available. Have you had an opportunity to use it yet. You won't be disappointed.
Regards
Pete.
Steve,
You've just had a right touch then as they've charged me £129.99(the price on their website) with free postage.Still, happy to get another D to match up with my current one. They are not listed on next years Shimano catalogue, although a delivery to Shimano is expected in January, maybe to...
I totally agree with Clive's suggestion of the Penns. The only disadvantage with them, is the inability to backwind, which some could find a bit of a chore, but clutch, crankability and bombproofness put them right up there.
I'd suggest Shimano 4000/6000 OC's depending on the size of your favoured river. Personally prefer the D model, but that would blow your budget a little. Only disadvantage is you don't get a spare spool if that was a requirement.
