Have only used the 30 gram model for crucian/tench fishing, but found after constant use, the hinge section starts to split so that eventually the top becomes detached from the weighed bottom section. Good idea though as gets the bait back in the water quickly and casts accurately.
I've got both the large folding Korum and the Wychwood.I prefer having the complete rigid frame once assembled of the Korum rather than the cord set up of the Wychwood although the magnet gadget is handy. However I'd only use a folding net if faced with a long walk making a solid framed net a...
Justin,
I've used the Korums with the detachable end caps since they first came out,not exclusively, but in suitable situations, and can't say I've had any problems.Sometimes tape over some of the holes in order to slow down the release of the contents.Favourite feeders are the ones from Woodys...
Looks like Guru have some new feeders out from 1 to 4oz.Saw them on a Dean Macey video clip fishing the Wye early in the season.Look like a regular plastic hair curler style but slightly tapered at one end with interchangeable stems to allow a running or inline presentation. No doubt something...
Hi Graham,
I've been quite happy with the Trafford Angling tripod, which has been very useful on rocky venues like the Wye. I believe these aren't made anymore but I'm sure a wanted ad would turn one up should you decide on one. Korum currently have something similar.
Regards
Pete.
Steve,
I enquired about these in my local tackle shop after seeing them in a magazine article. They are yet to receive their delivery at present but was told that other than the low profile/ lower required weight theory, the other feature was the ability to be also used in line when required. If...
John,
Mine is the 50 with fibreglass arms,2 pegging points at the back and includes the necessary pegs.I've just weighed it for you and including my own heavy duty solid brolly spike and the pegs it's 7lb 10 oz.
Regards
Pete.
I've had the Korum 50 inch for just over a year.Have been quite happy with it.The two pegging points are useful as most times just lay the back edge on the ground.Haven't had a problem with it folding in high winds, yet, and it's been through it's fair share.
I would also recommend the PB braid blades and reiterate everything said.I have made a point of always using them for braid only and haven't succumbed to snipping the odd length of mono.Honest.:D
Bill,
If you're a fan of the old Korum S hooks with the sealed eye, have a look at the Owner range with a "taff ring" which is the term they've patented for sealed eyed hooks.I did post this info a few years ago when Korum phased them out but can't a link to that info.
Regards
Pete.
Ray,
Yes you can still renew at the Post Office as before. Just keep your receipt with you when fishing until you receive your license through the post.
Steve,
I should imagine the safest plan would be to cancel your existing direct debit and set up a new one for next year at the reduced amount. I don't trust the EA direct debit scheme as a pals account got emptied by repeated applications of the debit against his account. It may have been an...
