I fish out a bivvy a lot when I'm doing weekends or over nighters while eel fishing . Can't see why you need one for a few hrs fishing but as long they didn't get in the way of my fishing let them carry on
First of all. 4.2 is a very good eel( like catching a big 20lb carp) Jeff. But you really want a big eel fish a Stillwater.. People who say they are fishing for eels during close season on river are really fishing for anything but eels.
I see this far to often people are barbel mad .Take your blinkers of and fish for other species. Last season I fished for eels barbel roach club and perch and loved it.

I've not got a problem using alarms on lower Severn. I use them if I don't use my pins. Sport can be slow at the best of times on a cold winter day on there..
Brought one when they first came out and rate them. Brilliant for my stillwater fishing saves lot of time and I've used it on rivers . I think I'm OK with watercraft but features I find using it been brilliant. I'm 47 perhaps I'm still down with the kids .Can't see how it's taking the fun...
