Few places along the Severn police have been stopping cars and asking where they are from ..and two of my angling clubs have stop us fishing there if more then 5 miles
Ive had the fox brolly for good few years. Bit heavy but in high winds its brilliant . Ive used it on the lower severn when other couldn't put there brollys up and when im piking on a res in high winds.
When I'm chub fishing I like my bait to have a bit of movement as it's working the swim for me. I also find if chub are there it's nearly always a instant bite

All depends on how you fish for chub ?. If you chucking out feeders etc I myself use small leads or swans shots on river Severn and been using drennan specialist twin duo. I like my bait to work the swim and with these rods I can feel everything.
I was very lucky to witness a British record in 1993 to a friend of mine . Yes I was one of my angling highs ( I been very lucky) but that day change the river. Fair play for such a massive barbel. Trouble is the background gives it away
I do a lot of Chub fishing now days I say it's my favourite kind of fishing. I've been using hookbait company Big cheeses and have done well on it last few seasons Also they make some ready mixed cheese paste if you a bit unsure about making paste.
