    This is the way I fish for barbel now. Rod as low as I can facing the bait with a small bobbin on . Fantastic way to fish with a pin watching the bobbin is mind blowing at times .. I dont hair rig using this method no need ..

    All depends how you would fish for chub. All my chub fishing on river severn is with a quiver tip rod using crust or cheese paste, If I was going down bollie route I use light barbel rods

    Take a break as you seem to be going though the motions . Perhaps fishing river for somthing else will open you eyes and make you think when you go back to barbel . Being a bit of a all round angler make you a better barbel anglerr
