    Making your own bait.

From small acorns......... Like I said in my OP, when we do something, we try and do it right. Not sure where it'll all lead, it's good fun doing it, so we'll see what happens.

    High backed chair options

I've got the Nash indulgence high back and it's excellent. Have a look here Gavin https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trkparms=folent:eek:fficialnashtackle|folenttp:1&_trksid=p3542580.m47492.l71970&_ssn=officialnashtackle They sometimes have one or two for sale. It's where I got mine from £80...

Tight lines for new season everyone

Absolutely hammering it down in Leicestershire ATM, not good for the folks at Download, but I'd imagine it'll put a bit on the Trent for later. Up here at least.

    Angling crossroads.

She's driving me nuts, Kev. 😆 Hats of to anyone who works in nursing, they are angles. I've only got the one to look after and I'm knackered. Lord knows how they cope with a ward full.

    Angling crossroads.

I've had mine done, Andrew, late December, and I'm back to as near normal as I'll ever be. No pain, more stability, up and down stairs without pulling myself up with the hand rail. Really pleased with it. I think I will be OK on the banks now. We'll certainly set the alarm off at the airport...

    Angling crossroads.

Thanks Bill. She’s not good a sitting still for long periods, so I’m having to try and stop her doing things she doesn’t need to.

    Angling crossroads.

LOL. I am. But now Mrs A has gone under the knife for the first of both of her knees, so I'm on nurse duties for a while and my season is on hold for a bit.

    Rod Position Changes

I tend to fish my rods reasonably high, combined with a long hooklength, harks back to my match fishing days. Another thing is I think they are a bit more noticeable up higher. I'm not always watching the tips, I like to watch the river and what's happening around me as well. I don't think I'd...

    Making your own bait.

I started this topic as a bit of close season fun, that's all. Documenting my mate and I, boilie making journey. It go a little out of hand and I lost interest in posting on it. I put the last few pictures up for those interested to see how we were progressing. I've smelt the Pro stim Liver...

Harrison Torrix custom vs factory made

This thread reinforces the fact I'm very happy to buy a factory built rod. 1, I don't know enough about all the different blanks available. 2, I don't know enough about the size and type of reel seat required. 3, I don't know enough about ring spacing and how many are required. I'd hate to...

When is an upgrade really an upgrade?

I don't upgrade, I'm not after the holy grail. I try and do as much research as I can before buying an item, and then stick with it. It took me 18 months to decide which match rods to buy back in the 90s, and I've still got and use them today. Same with most of my match gear. I bought a...

    Scales

These are accurate. We used to use these in the Coventry matches. You didn't want to draw the scales in those matches though as it took ages to weigh in...

    Scales

I took a set of Flyweights to RH and asked them to service them for me as they were out a bit. They contacted me a while later and said they couldn't do it and offered me a brand new set for £8 instead. I don't know if it was because it wasn't worth repairing them, but I took up their offer.

    Reels for basias

I've got Shimano X Aero 6000s on mine, not everyone's cup of tea, but I like them. I just can't get on with front drags.
